Technological Frameworks
This week our class discussed how, as aspiring teachers, we can begin thinking about incoroporating technology into the classroom. We explored two different types of diagrams that discuss the efforts of the teacher to utilize technological practices and tools within his or her teaching practice. Two specific frameworks that we talked about are: TPACK and the SAMR. These models might be familar to anyone engaged in the teaching practice and keeping up to date with technology, which is important to do in the classroom. Because, as it self-evident, technology is all around us and to bring it into the classroom is to provide the students with the best tools possible to become active learners. As Ruben Puentedura, the creator of the SAMR model, points out working at the 'redefinition' stage of SAMR creates a sense of ownership and responsibility for the student. The student becomes engaged in her learning and an active participant in the process itself, instead of a passive observer.

Part A
I created my own interpretation of the TPACK model which represents where I feel I am in my teaching/learning career right now. My technology circle is the smallest and most isolated becuase this is the area I feel least confident in. I am working on expanding it and bringing it closer and perhaps having it intersect with content and pedagogical knowledge. My content and pedagogical knowledge are intertwined because I am constantly learning of ways to teach my students my area of expertise within the secondary education realm.
Part B
As a former student it is always interesting to go back in time and remember some of the best and worst ways that our teachers incorporated technology into the lesson plan.
